Their conclusion? "It celebrates homogenization." Corporate raiders -- like AOL's Steve Case -- take the likeable form of Tom Hanks.

In real-life, Case brags about the clout he brings to conquer the market for on-line access. Local internet service providers -- like local bookstores -- may be driven out of business, just like Meg Ryan's shop in the movie. But the real question? What will the lurking AOLers do...
